FAQCan this Laboratory Information System (LIS) be customized? What kind of reports does your LIS generate? Tell me how this LIS is installed and how long it will take? How do I get service if I have a problem? Can I connect more than one office together? How about remote access to patient results? How can I get additional information or speak to someone about my particular needs?
Can this Laboratory Information System (LIS) be customized to fit my needs or is this one of those 'one size fits all' products? Fletcher-Flora offers tremendously flexible systems. All of our product suites are designed with extensibility and flexibility in mind to meet the unique needs of today’s laboratories. Our products employ a building block approach offering comprehensive LIS solutions to any size laboratory, from small clinics and group practices to the largest multi-facility reference laboratories to the hospital environment. Providing flexible solutions that increase efficiency, save money and maximize your return on investment. Fletcher-Flora recognizes that "one size does not fit all"
What kind of reports does your LIS generate? In addition to the Patient Sample Report, you have the option to generate cumulative patient reports in both text and graphic formats, reports containing just abnormal or critical results, quality control summary reports, daily logs, and incomplete work report logs just to name a few. Cost revenue and billing reports can also be added. With these reports you will be able to audit your operational cost of running the laboratory as well as the reimbursement you receive from payers. Many of Fletcher-Flora products provide report customization tools to create the exact report with the exact data you need.
Tell me how this LIS is installed and how long will it take? That depends upon your unique laboratory requirements. In all cases once you are satisfied that the System that has been designed for your laboratory is 'right' and have placed your order, the Fletcher-Flora Installation and Training Department will take over. You will be asked to appoint a System Administrator. Fletcher-Flora will work with this individual to obtain information regarding the layout of the laboratory, required length of the cables for the analyzers, workstations, etc. It will also be necessary to know the specific tests, ranges, and even the names of the physicians who will be using the system. Once this information is collected the installation date can be set. In the meantime, your system will be built and configured to your specific needs. The advantage to you is that this preplanning process provides that more time can be directed to the training of your staff. Fletcher-Flora systems are 'ready-to-go' when they arrive. Generally speaking, systems are installed anywhere from four to eight weeks after the preplanning portion has been completed.
How do I get service if I have a problem? Fletcher-Flora Support Personnel are available 24/7 to support your System. Phone support and "on-line" support are available to help you.
Suppose I open or acquire another one or two offices. In one office I decide to do limited laboratory testing, say just blood counts, and send the samples requiring additional tests to my main facility. What does Fletcher-Flora have to offer? This is a real strength for us. We offer connectivity with your main lab in two ways. One is to set up a Remote Laboratory System (RLS). This accommodates sites doing limited testing as well as allows you to manage the samples sent to the main lab. For those sites where all you do is draw the blood and send it to your main testing facility, Fletcher-Flora offers a Remote Processing System (RPS). With the RPS personnel can order the tests, print the labels, draw the samples, and send the labeled tubes to the main lab. With either the RPS or the RLS, results for that site's patients are sent back electronically from the main lab. If your patients are seen at multiple sites, all lab results can be made available to each site. If your needs are just to look up results Fletcher-Flora has available a cost effective 'Inquiry Only' product that you may want to know more about.
How about remote access to patient results? Fletcher-Flora systems offer a variety of solutions for patient results. Faxing, remote printing, and integrated outreach solutions. Patient reports can be automatically sent via Fax, over Wide Area Network or the Internet to printers and, with some of our products, integrated outreach portals for Internet access of results as well as placing orders.
Is it possible to interface the Fletcher-Flora systems to an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system? Again, the answer is YES! Fletcher-Flora has extensive credentials interfacing our systems with numerous EMR systems. In fact, our slogan is "Connecting the Industry". What some companies talk about and others brag about, Fletcher-Flora actually does.
